Should I go ahead and pay off the 4 that remain? I have disputed them at the advice of someone else and they did come back as saying its valid- they are medical bills, so no luck there. Will paying all 4 of them off and lowering my balancne on my credit card to at least 25% get me to where I need to be in time to buy a house? Or should I just pay one off at a time- maybe one a month, and just realize I won’t make the deadline for the first time buyer tax credit? I am 21 years old and trying really hard to build my credit. My current credit score is 659 according to Credit Karma. I have a Auto Loan for 14k that I have had since May of 2010 and I have been on time with every single payment weekly payment of $72. My fiance’s mother co-signed for me and the loan officer said that in a year I can go back in and have her removed. With her being on the loan as a co-signer is it building my credit at all or is it affecting hers only? Once I go back in to have her removed should I refinance or would that not be wise? I also have a Gordon Jeweler’s Credit Card with a $500 limit. I currently have $180 on it. Now here is where I really need the advice. I am getting enough back with my income tax return that I could pay it completely off. Would it benefit me more to pay it off all at once or to make $50 payments each month until it is paid off? I know having a credit card with a zero balance helps your credit or at least that’s what I’ve been told. I just want to make sure that I am doing everything that I can to build my credit because it is crap right now. To sum up, I had a debt that was in collections through a company called lets say X. X transferred the account to Y and then Y to Z. The original creditor is W. I never heard again from Y or Z and W (the original creditor went out of business). I disputed the information from X on my credit report as it states (transferred to another office). I don’t remember the exact name for that function, but I think it is something like under-signer?
